Getting around in Tromsø
Welcome to Tromsø! Here you will find information on how to get around in our city and the region around Tromsø.
- Transport to and from Tromsø Airport

To travel to and from Tromsø Airport Langnes you can take the airport express, citybuses or taxi.
The airport express runs between the airport and Tromsø city centre, and it takes about 15 minutes. There are several stops and pick-up points throughout the city . See timetables for the airport express here.
City bus routes 24, 40 and 42 run between the airport and Tromsø city centre. Tickets can be purchased from ticket machines or in the app Troms Billett, or on the bus (cash payments in NOK only if you buy the ticket on board the bus). Search times for city buses here.
There is also a taxi rank outside the airport terminal as well as several taxi ranks in downtown Tromsø. The taxi fare from the airport to the city centre during the daytime on weekdays is approximately NOK 200. A higher fare applies on weekends and in the evening/at night. - Getting to and from Breivika Cruise Port

Breivika Cruise Port is located approximately 4 km from the city centre.
Shuttle buses run regularly between the Breivika Cruise Port and the city centre on most days when cruise ships are at this port.

City buses run within the city of Tromsø from early morning to late night, every day. There is also a night bus service on Friday and Saturday nights from the city centre to selected parts of Tromsø.
Tickets may be purchased from ticket machines, sale points or in the app Troms Billett. You can also buy tickets on board the bus, but please note that is is cash payments only (NOK) on board the bus.
Most city buses are accessible for wheelchair users. You can bring pets, prams and skis are free of charge, as well as wheelchairs, walking frames and small children’s bikes. Additional NOK 20 is charged for an adult bike.

District buses run within the municipality of Tromsø and depart from Prostneset, the main bus station in Tromsø, which is located beside the Tromsø Tourist Information Office.
You can purchase tickets via the APP Troms Billett, or on board the buses, but please note cash payments only (NOK) when you purchase on board.
Bus 420 Tromsø - Hella - Brensholmen - Sommarøy
This route offers a short excursion from Tromsø around the southern part of the island of Kvaløya. Same day return to Sommarøy is possible from Monday to Friday during the summer.Bus 425 Tromsø - Ersfjordbotn
