This tour is conducted by Tromsø Outdoor. A great way to start your day! Join us for a short snow-shoeing trip in easy terrain. This tour is designed for people with little experience and for those who have never tried snowshoeing. It is also perfect for families with kids from 8 years and older.
General information
After a short 10-minute drive to the top of the Tromsø island, we first learn how to use snowshoes and then we start walking into the forest.
Our guide will lead you through flat and slightly hilly terrain. We stop several times during the walk for photos and to provide you with information about our beautiful city and Arctic environment. The area is wonderfully scenic with birch and spruce forests and providing the opportunity to enjoy the incredible views of the surrounding island landscapes. We also stop for a longer break where we serve lefse (a delicious local snack) and a hot drink to warm up.
If you feel that two hours is too short check out
Guided easy snowshoeing with a visit to local café (click to open). On this tour during 4.5 hours we head outside of the city for a bit longer but still easy snowshoe walk and stop for a cafe and cake in local café on Kvaløya island.
